A wedge gate valve is a type of valve that is widely used in many industries - its main purpose is to start or stop a fluid flow rather than to regulate it. The design of the wedge gate valve is quite straightforward: it typically consists of a wedge, a bonnet which houses the moving parts, valve stem which is used to operate the valve, and two seats where the wedge seals off the flow.
