Description
A pneumatic valve is used to change the direction, start, and stop compressed air flow in a pneumatic system depending on an external control signal.
Control is achieved by switching the connection pattern of the valve's internal channels with the inlet and outlet ports. External pneumatic lines are defined as air ducts and air passages (including vents), connected in specific combinations at various valve positions. The main structural elements of a spool valve are the housing, which contains the channels, and the spool, which is mounted within the housing. The spool has journals that allow the selected channels to be connected to each other. When the core moves under the influence of control signals, which change the magnetic field strength generated by the solenoid, the internal channels of the valve are switched, connecting the inlet and outlet ports. By moving within the housing, the spool changes the connection pattern of the pneumatic valve's channels.
