Description

Steam trap is designed to release condensate, air and other non-condensable gases from the steam system, as well as to delay steam until it is completely condensed. The principle of operation is based on the difference in the velocities of steam and condensate. When condensate passes through, due to the low speed, the disc rises and passes the condensate. When steam enters the thermodynamic condensate trap, the speed increases, leading to a drop in static pressure, and the disc descends onto the seat. The steam above the disc, due to the larger contact area, keeps the disc in the closed position. As the steam condenses, the pressure above the disc drops, and the disc begins to rise again, passing condensate.
