Una válvula de mariposa de agua es un tipo de válvula que se utiliza para controlar el flujo de agua u otros fluidos a través de una tubería. Recibe su nombre del disco en forma de mariposa que se encuentra en su interior y que gira para abrir o cerrar el flujo. Cuando la válvula está completamente abierta, el disco se posiciona paralelo a la dirección del flujo, permitiendo el paso del agua sin obstrucciones. Cuando la válvula está cerrada, el disco gira perpendicularmente al flujo, bloqueando eficazmente el flujo de agua.
