The principle of operation of the meter is to measure the number of revolutions of the impeller rotating under the action of the flow of flowing water. The water flow enters the meter body through the inlet pipe, passes through the filter and then through the holes of the jet-directing device enters the measuring chamber, inside which the impeller with a magnet mounted on it (leading magnetic coupling) rotates on solid supports. After passing through the measuring chamber, the water flows through the outlet openings of the jet guide device into the outlet of the meter. The number of impeller revolutions is proportional to the amount of flowing water. The rotation of the impeller is transmitted to the driven part of the magnetic coupling installed in the counting mechanism. The magnetic coupling is protected from external magnetic field by an anti-magnetic shield. The counter is also equipped with a sensor for remote transmission of impulses. The reed sensor is designed for remote reading with a frequency proportional to the water flow rate. A magnet is installed on one of the arrows of the pointer or on one of the disks of the counting mechanism, the passage of which under the reed switch ensures closing of the reed switch contacts. If there is a voltage from an external source in the reed switch circuit, a current flows in the circuit when the contacts are closed, which is detected by an external device.
